Today was one of the flying ant days. Hundreds of nests across the region all send their flying ants in to the air to breed at the same time. This gives all the ants the best genetic mix possible. Unfortunately for the people who have nests under or semi under their house the emerging flying ants come out in to the living spaces. These ants came up behind the fridge.

Fascia Strips Let Wasps In

A badly fitted bit of fascia stripping has let wasps in. The lower strip breather gaps are to small for a queen wasp to pass through and make a nest. However when it isn’t pushed in properly they can get in. You can see the wasps by the very end gap on the corner (quite hard to make out in the photo). The customer in this instance had blocked the hole with a piece of wood with tacks, gaffered to a 4 metre pole. This didn’t have the desired effect and only made them angry!!
